Good Energy, one of the UK’s leading renewable energy suppliers, has selected Origami Energy’s Technology Platform to provide real-time management of diverse portfolios of electricity generation, demand and storage assets for its industrial and commercial customers. One of the first Good Energy customers to benefit from Origami Energy’s Platform will be The Eden Project; the iconic Cornish tourist attraction, social enterprise and charity.
Within the agreement, Origami Energy will also provide turnkey support for Good Energy’s battery storage projects, including analysis, specification, development and installation.
Origami Energy’s solution enables Good Energy’s industrial and commercial customers to benefit from lower electricity charges by shifting and reducing demand, as well as securing additional revenue through the provision of ancillary services to National Grid.
Commenting on the partnership, Dr. Randall Bowen, Director of Business Services at Good Energy, said: “We set out to be a catalyst for change in the UK energy market; Origami Energy’s solution enables us to continue down that path by challenging the traditional models of energy supply while increasing the value we deliver to our customers. It also supports our aims to transition to a modern and efficient energy grid that uses 100% renewable generation.”
Peter Bance, chief executive of Origami Energy said “We are delighted to be working with Good Energy to help them deliver new and innovative green energy services. This partnership validates the value that our Technology Platform offers to energy suppliers as well as the expertise within our energy storage development team. The real-time control offered by our platform enables more efficient use of the assets, presenting a better return on investment for the asset owner and increased profitability for Good Energy.”
Origami Energy’s Technology Platform is a scalable, cloud-based software platform that uses advanced machine learning techniques to analyse data from multiple generation, demand and storage energy assets. It determines their flexibility to power up and down, or switch on and off. The platform automatically optimises the energy flexibility and balances it against market requirements, controlling the asset through an intelligent Energy Router. Customers can view the real-time asset performance through a dynamic user interface.
